Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek has revealed why he isn’t a fan of Valkyrie – a legend that was added to the Apex Legends roster recently.
Shroud doesn’t like Valkyrie. He isn’t willing to play it unless Respawn Entertainment changes the way her VTOL Jets ability works, according to Dexerto.
Valkyrie, who made her debut in Apex Legends Season 9, continues to garner huge popularity among Apex Legends players. If played correctly, she has a lot to offer, but Shroud just refuses to play her.
In his recent stream, the Canadian YouTuber revealed why he doesn’t want to play Valkyrie. It all comes down to two simple points.
First, he does not believe she is useful. Aside from that, he doesn’t like how her VTOL Jets ability functions, at least in terms of key bindings.
“The new character seems bad. [It] seems cool, but not very useful,” he said. “I haven’t [played the character]. But from what I’ve seen, I don’t know. I just don’t see a world where the meta of the characters changes.”
According to the 26-year-old streamer, Wraith, Wattson, Pathfinder, Lifeline, and Bloodhunter have always been the strongest. He doesn’t see Valkyrie surpassing them anytime soon.
Shroud went ahead to give her a go in the firing range. He got put off very soon.
“Can I make it so that I only boost with the spacebar, or is it always just gonna be with jump? That’s gonna be so annoying. I don’t think I’m going to be able to play this character. I’ve got to be able to change that, right?”
As far as Shroud’s key bindings are concerned, he uses the mouse wheel to jump. He would fly instead, every time he tried to bunnyhop on Valkyrie. This was more than he could bear.
“Okay, I’m not playing this character. I’ll tell you that right now. That’s the first mistake that they overlooked. I’m not playing this character. I can’t do it.
“There’s no way in hell I’m going to be able to do that successfully. I’m just going to be [using the jetpack when I’m] trying to [bunnyhop].”
Those who do not have the same issue with bunnyhopping are not likely to agree with Shroud. However, we might not see him on the game’s newest legend anytime soon.
