Samsung’s long-awaited M series has been floating around the rumor mill and making numerous appearances online in the form of leaks.
While the South Korean handset maker continues to keep details about the upcoming series under wraps, more shreds of information continue to surface on the internet.
The latest piece of information focuses on Samsung Galaxy M Series launch date in India.
The budget lineup from Samsung is slated to hit the Indian store shelves on January 28th, the company confirmed during a press release held on Monday, January 14th.
Aside from revealing that the Galaxy M-Series smartphones will target ‘young millennials,’ Samsung confirmed that handsets belonging to this range will boast ‘powerful’ display, cameras, batteries as well as processors.
In India, the Galaxy M series smartphone will be up for grabs via Amazon India and the company’s own official online store.
Interestingly, in a recent interview with Reuters, Samsung noted that it plans to launch the Galaxy M smartphone series in India before making it available in other markets across the globe.
A report from Gadgets 360 attributes this move to the company’s attempt to regain the Indian market that’s currently dominated by Chinese brands such as Xiaomi.
Samsung is hoping to double its sale in India by launching the three new M-series phones, Samsung’s Indian mobile business head told Reuters.
“The M series has been built around and incepted around Indian millennial consumers,” Asim Warsi said.
He further added that the phones will be launched globally following their imminent Indian launch.
While he refrained from giving specifics, Mr. Warsi noted that online sale justifies the double-digit percentage of Samsung’s overall mobile phone revenue.
In a bid to cement its supremacy in the Indian market that comprises over a billion wireless subscribers, Samsung inaugurated what it deemed as the world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturing plant on the outskirts of New Delhi, India’s capital.
Aside from that, the company also opened its largest mobile phone store in the world in Bengaluru.
Samsung is also gearing up to launch the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10 Lite smartphones in February this year.
