After hitting the Chinese store shelves last week, the Redmi Note 7 is expected to make its hotly-anticipated debut in the global markets sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, the equally-anticipated upgrade to Redmi Note 7 dubbed, the Redmi Note 7 Pro has been floating around the rumor mill. During the recently concluded Redmi Note 7 launch event, the now-independent Redmi brand announced that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be launched in February this year.
The phone is expected to pack a powerful Snapdragon 675 SoC under the hood. The price tag this new model is likely to carry has also been leaked. On the optics front, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will house a rear-mounted 48.0MP primary sensor.
Keeping in line with that, the Chinese electronics company shared a new teaser on Weibo. It can be recalled that the Chinese microblogging website last week spilled the beans on the phone’s specifications.
The teaser suggests the Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature a 48.0MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor on the back. Its precursor, on the other hand, comes with a 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor.
Moreover, Redmi by Xiaomi also confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will go up for sale during the Chinese New Year, which kicks off next month.
While the company resorted to keeping the rest of the details under wraps, a tipster on Weibo noted that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be one of the first smartphones to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC. The Redmi Note 7 is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC.
It can be recalled that Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 675 SoC back in October 2018 with an octa-core Kryo 675 CPU and an Adreno 612 graphics processing unit. The new chipset comprises an upgrade of the SD670 SoC and adopts the 11nm LPP process technology.
Another tipster on Weibo claims that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will carry a price tag of CNY 1,499 (about 15,800 INR). The 3GB RAM+32GB ROM variant of the Redmi Note 7 retailed for CNY 999 (about 10,500) at launch, while the 4GB RAM+64GB ROM model sold for CNY 1,199 (about 12,600 INR).
The 6GB RAM+64GB ROM model of the Redmi Note 7 will set you back CNY 1,399, which roughly converts to about 14,700 INR. Given that nothing is set in stone yet, readers are advised to take these speculations with a grain of salt. Watch this space for more news and updates about the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
