Recently, Xiaomi’s brand Redmi had started teasing the launch of the new Redmi 9 in China. Yesterday, the Chinese company confirmed that the pre-sale of the Redmi 9 will be carried out on June 24 in the home market.
Back in March, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 9 series in India. Soon after its launch, there was a report saying that the series will not be releasing in China because currently, the company’s main focus is on selling 5G-ready Redmi phones in the country.
Somehow, the company had launched the Redmi 10X 4G version, and also the upcoming Redmi 9 is a 4G phone. It is speculated that the Redmi 9 could be the last 4G phone from the company in China.
Currently, the Redmi 10X 5G with a starting price of 1,599 Yuan (~$226) is the cheapest 5G phone from the brand. It will take only a few months for 5G phones to arrive with 999 Yuan (~$141) starting price in China.
Coming back to Xiaomi Redmi 9 for China, the phone is speculated to launch in new configurations such as 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB, and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. In Spain and Malaysia’s market, the Redmi 9 has been launched in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage versions and colors like Sunset Purple, Ocean Green, Carbon Gray. In China, the phone may come in colors like Carbon Black, Neon Blue, Pink, and Dark Green. The rest of the specs of the Redmi 9 for China could be identical to its global version.
