Pokimane Gets Banned On Twitch After Streaming Avatar

Pokimane was streaming 10-hour Avatar: The Last Airbender on Twitch to tens of thousands of her followers. Well, the result? She got removed from the streaming platform altogether.

When you open Pokimane’s profile link, you get redirected to Error 404 page. The social media star had a humongous 8.5 million Twitch followers. That is quite a massive number, Isn’t it?

Pokimane’s ban came after there is a rise in the TV show reactions and movie reactions content on the streaming platform.

In a similar league, other streamers namely ThexQc, Mizkif, and others went viral as they Masterchef and Avatar. This happened in spite of the fact that fellow streamers like Sodapoppin and Ludwig cautioned about the dangers of DMCA.

Sykkuno was live during the ban and he found it quite shocking that only Pokimane got targeted for it. There are other streamers who do streams like that but aren’t targeted.

“I don’t want to be that dude, but Mizkif streamed Avatar too. Does that mean he gets banned? I’m snitching on him — but he streamed it to like 50,000 people,” Sykkuno said, as per Dexerto.

Well, this ban made other streamers cautious. Some like ‘Disguised Toast’ even deleted their VODs and clips to protect themselves from DMCA ban.
