On 15 June, the Koren tech giant, LG announced the global launch of the brand new smartphone dubbed as LG Velvet. However, its global pricing is still a mystery.
Back in May, the smartphone had made its debut in South Korea. Now, the company is looking forward to launching the smartphone in the European markets this month. The phone will also arrive in other countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Poland first, followed by other different countries located in North America, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America in the weeks ahead. It is unclear whether the phone will arrive in India as well. There are no exact dates given of sale for LG Velvet.
In the South Korean market, the LG Velvet was launched at a price tag of KRW 899,800 (roughly 56,200 INR) and Its coupled with 8GB + 128GB storage variant. The smartphone comes in four color options which include Aurora Green, Aurora Gray, Aurora White, and Illusion Sunset. According to reports, LG is busy working on the 4G variant of LG Velvet.
Powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, the LG Velvet runs Android 10 out-of-the-box with a custom skin on top. The smartphone comes with a 6.8-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,460 pixels) Cinema FullVision POLED display with support for LG Dual Screen cover. The phone has an inbuilt storage of 128GB which can be expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB).
Coming to cameras, the phone comes with a triple rear camera setup includes an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a wide-angle f/2.2 lens, a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. The company calls the design of the rear camera module as “Raindrop camera” as it evokes imagery of falling rain. For your selfies and video calls, it has a 16-megapixel camera sensor with an f/1.9 lens. Additionally, there’s a 4,300mAh battery on the Velvet that supports both wired and wireless charging.
