Huawei continues to launch a slew of new devices and has a few more planned for the future. The Chinese tech giant is also working on a new smartwatch lineup.
If recently surfaced information from MyDrivers.com is anything to go by, Huawei has already applied to trademark “NOVA Watch” last week. This could be the smartwatch series the company is expected to launch soon.
Huawei has previously launched several smartphones under the Nova lineup, but this would be the first time the company will be introducing smartwatches under the popular brand. The Nova Watch series will reportedly focus on fashion as its selling point and will be targeted towards young consumers.
Some suggest that the reason behind launching the new Nova smartwatch lineup is the separation of Huawei’s sub-brand Honor, which stripped the company of a myriad of devices from its comprehensive portfolio. The impending lineup will be an addition to the company’s wearable products, which currently comprises Huawei Watch Fit, Watch GT, Huawei Band, and Children’s Watch 3.
As far as Huawei’s market share is concerned, the company ranked among the top five wearable markets in China with a 28.6 percent market share and 9.41 million shipments. The Chinese market witnessed a total shipment of 32.93 million devices in the third quarter last year. Watch this space for the latest tech and business news.
