‘GTA 6’ Trends On Twitter Following The Weeknd’s Super Bowl LV Appearance

GTA 6 took the Twitterverse by storm, trending on the social media platform for the second time this week.

The hotly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto V sequel dubbed, GTA 6 is trending on Twitter following Super Bowl LV, and its halftime show featuring Canadian singer The Weeknd. Super Bowl LV is over, with Tom Brady dominantly earning his 7th ring over the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.

The rumor mill began churning rumors suggesting that Rockstar Games will be finally revealing GTA 6 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X ahead of the Super Bowl. Much to the chagrin of those waiting with bated breath for the game developer to divulge more details about the upcoming title, this didn’t happen.

While details about what started the trend on Twitter are few and far between, Comicbook suggests these speculations played a role. Moreover, it was previously speculated that The Weeknd is associated with the game, or its soundtrack, so this likely triggered the trend as well.

Once the trend began, it left Grand Theft Auto fans wondering why it was trending, which only made it trend more. At the time of writing, Rockstar Games hasn’t said anything about Grand Theft Auto 6 being in development, let alone announcing it.

GTA 6 repeatedly trending on Twitter shows that there is a significant demand to see the next installment in the hit series. Stay tuned here for the latest gaming news.
