GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced Edition Release Pushed To Next Year

GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced Edition release date has been pushed back, much to the chagrin of the game’s massive fanbase.

Rockstar unveiled a new trailer for GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced Edition during the recently concluded PlayStation showcase. Aside from that, Rockstar shed light on some features of the next-gen version of the game. Nothing seems to be set in stone. However, the trailer implied that the next version of the game will offer enhanced gameplay. This could allude to a lot of things.

Aside from that, Rockstar gave GTA fans a glimpse of the smooth character switching feature. In the trailer, the transition from Michael to Trevor appeared seamless. With the advent of more advanced hardware such as fast and powerful SSDs, load times and the transition between characters will be a lot faster.

Moreover, the trailer implies that the GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced Edition will now release in Mar. 2022. The game’s original release date was Nov. 21 this year. In its latest blog post, the publisher explained that the polish and fine-tuning of the next-gen version of the popular 2013 title will take a few more months. As a result, the game will release next year.

The game will release alongside GTA Online as a standalone title. The next-gen version of the game will boost the performance of some vehicles on next-gen consoles. Rockstar suggests that more details about the aforesaid games will surface ahead of the release date.

It is still unclear how Rockstar plans to surprise fans on GTA III’s 20th Anniversary. However, some fans believe that the surprise could arrive in the form of a remaster of the PS2 trilogy. With the anniversary just about a month away, we might not have to wait too long to find out what the game developer has to offer.
