The Tesla CEO also opened up about the forthcoming Starship rocket system. The platform is slated to be used as a launch and landing platform for the SpaceX Starship, a spacecraft that Musk is planning to send to Mars.
Earlier this year, Musk’s aerospace company bought two oil rigs off the coast of Texas to serve as “floating” launchpads for the Starship, BusinessInsider reported. Drawing inspirations from Mars’ moons, the platforms have been named Deimos and Phobos.
The latest prototype of the Starship made a safe ascent and landing this month. According to BBC, the reusable vehicle can prove to be a “game-changer for space travel.”
