Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED released a new Cyberpunk 2077 TV spot during the NBA Finals featuring actor Keanu Reeves.

Slate to hit the store shelves soon, CD Projekt RED has ramped up marketing for Cyberpunk 2077. While the developer already has a massive fanbase that is willing to jump into Nighty City, its efforts to lure the masses are just beginning.

CDPR has been giving fans a brief glimpse of Cyberpunk 2077 via a series of online ‘Night City Wire’ event focused on the intricacies of the game. The first marketing stunt that built the hype for Cyberpunk 2077 last year, however, was the reveal that The Matrix star Keanu Reeves would be gracing the game as a character.

CD Projekt RED is bringing in the actor again, this time for a short TV spot promoting Cyberpunk 2077. The ad was played for the first time during the recently-concluded NBA Finals Game, and it features Reeves narrating in front of a cyberpunk-esque background, coupled with some smooth-running gameplay footage and background music featuring Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guys.”

The TV spot is a must-watch for those who may be new to the game, with Reeves’ telling the viewers: “In 2077, what makes someone a criminal? Getting caught. In Night City you can become anybody, anything if your body can pay the price. So seize the day and set it on fire.”

This seems to be a fitting synopsis of the major focuses in Cyberpunk 2077. The game has been touting its massive new open world of Night City, which seems to encourage hours of exploration across multiple districts.

Furthermore, the lifepath and character customization options will enable players to become anyone, while developing their story in Cyberpunk 2077. Considering that Night City is teeming with crime and violence, players will have numerous opportunities to use pioneering weapons and cybernetic upgrades to fulfill a task.

Reeves will be playing Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, an infamous rockstar, and rebel in Night City. While Silverhand made an appearance towards the end of the trailer, but disappeared and was presumed dead after his rebellion. It remains to be seen how big a part Reeves will be playing in the Cyberpunk 2077‘s narrative, but it looks like his character has big plans for a rebellion that involves the leading character, V.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on Nov. 19 for Xbox Series X, Stadia Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Stay tuned in to AuczarPlus for the latest, exclusive news about gaming.
