CD Projekt’s hotly-anticipated video game, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to hit the store shelves tomorrow, and players around the world are waiting with bated breath to kick off their adventure in the game’s Night City’.
Set in Night City, Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story. Night City is obsessed with body modification, glamor, and power. Gamers can play as V, a mercenary outlaw trying to get its hands on a one-of-a-kind implant that offers immortality. The game was originally scheduled to release on Nov. 6, but its release date was postponed to Dec. 10, marking an eight-year wait.
Cyberpunk 2077 lets gamers customize the character’s playstyle, skillset, cyberware while allowing them to explore a vast city where the story takes shape based on the choices the player makes. Polish gaming company CD Projekt RED has already announced global unlock times on PS4, Stadia, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
Players who pre-ordered the game can begin preloading. CD Projekt’s The Witcher series, which is based on the fantasy novels, has garnered huge popularity among avid gamers.
Cyberpunk 2077 unlocks at 12 am GMT on Dec. 10 on PC and Stadia. For players on console, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will unlock at 12 am local time on Dec. 10. Note that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, respectively, through backward compatibility.
If you are interested in pre-loading the game on your systems, you’d need to download a 43 GB patch alongside the base game. The developers also announced that a day one patch will closely follow the release due to glitches and bugs reported in previous reviews.
