HP (Hewlett-Packard) is targetting the education market with its latest computers.
The California-based multinational information technology company has unveiled a couple of new Chromebooks including the Chromebook x360 11 G2 and Chromebook 11 G7 Education Editions.
As the monikers these devices carry suggest, both Chromebooks are designed specifically for the education market.
In terms of specifications, the Chromebook x360 11 G2 EE sports an eye-catching 11-inch IPS HD display with a screen resolution of 366 x 768 pixels. There’s a regular USB port along with a headphone jack an SD card slot on this computer.
You can effortlessly transform the device into a 3.24-pound tablet as it comes with a 360-degree hinge. For those who fancy taking notes on their mobile devices, the Chromebook x360 11 G2 EE comes with an optional Wacom EMR pen.
Under the hood, the Chromebook x360 11 G2 EE is likely to pack the dual-core Intel Celeron N4000 or quad-core Celeron N4100, coupled with 8GB of RAM. It will offer 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage capacity and will draw its juices from a 47.36Wh battery that delivers up to 11.5 hours of use.
The Chromebook x360 11 G2 EE has been designed to prevail against a considerable amount of manhandling.
Keeping in line with that, the device recently underwent the MIL-STD-810G testing, which is a US Military Standard rating, and was able to endure drops of about 76cm on the hardened floor.
The Chromebook 11 G7 EE too boasts nearly same specifications including processor option, memory (RAM, ROM), battery capacity as well as display size. It too has undergone the same MIL-STD-810G rating and was able to withstand similar drop tests on concrete.
However, the Chromebook 11 G7 EE comes with three different display options including an HD IPS touchscreen, a matte HD IPS non-touchscreen, and an HD SVA option.
Aside from that, the hinge can only allow you to lie the display flat on a surface. The Chromebook 11 G7 EE is backed by a similarly-sized battery that delivers about 13 hours of use.
Both, the Chromebook x360 11 G2 EE and Chromebook 11 G7 EE are slated to hit the store shelves sometime in April. Details about the price tags these computers are likely to carry are still scarce.
